Ani Dorjee Khandro

Ani Dorjee Khandro comes from Mongar Silimbey, a three-day walk from Mongar Dzongkhag. Her village has only seven houses and is one of the most remote places in Bhutan. She has six siblings. When she was six years old her parents divorced and left her and her siblings with her grandmother. Her grandmother raised all of them. Of course she could not go to school due to the remoteness of the village and because of financial problems. Her hope is to educate herself through being at the nunnery. She plans to study hard and would like to do a retreat for the benefit of all beings.
