Ani Pasang Lhamo

Ani Pasang Lhamo comes from the Dolpo region of Nepal, where her family farms and herds. Her father takes care of the yaks and goats, her mother cooks and does other chores, and the children gather forage and work in the fields. Two of her three brothers are monks and one of her three sisters is a nun. When Ani Pasang was seven years old her mother told her that life would be difficult if she stayed in the village, and brought her to Tek Chok Ling so that she could study and receive an education. Ani Pasang is now eleven. She is learning Tibetan, English, and Nepali, and enjoys life at the nunnery, particularly Rinpoche and her friends.
