Ani Pema Chozsom

Ani Pema Chozsom is from the Tibet border area of Nepal. When she was home her time was spent helping her mother collect firewood, carry water and cut grass for the cattle. She saw nuns in her village and she thought she would like to become a nun, but since she had so much work to do in the village it was impossible for her to be a nun. She traveled to Kathmandu alone to become a nun and asked her cousin’s brother to take her to a nunnery. He brought her to Tek Chok Ling. Now she is happy. She is involved in the traditional nun training and activities as well as taking classes in Nepali, Tibetan, English and math. She feels that she is very lucky to be a nun. She sees that she will have many opportunities to learn many new things.
