Mandala of Mahamudra
If one takes the guru's form or the guru's voice to be the guru, one has not seen the ultimate, genuine guru, which is the dharmakaya. As Trungpa Rinpoche has said in The Sadhana of Mahamudra:

    In the mandala of mahamudra
    Shines moonlight, pure and all-pervading
All apparent phenomena are the play of the mind.
All qualities are complete within the mind.

Here, "mandala of mahamudra" is exactly the same as the mandala of dharmakaya. In fact, it is nothing other than the enlightened guru. The enlightened mind of the guru is ultimately the mandala of dharmakaya, the mandala of mahamudra. One needs to understand and to have confidence in that. The next step is to recognize that the guru's enlightened mind and the abiding nature of one's own mind cannot be separated; they are identical.

Know this life to be like a dream.
See the mind’s unborn nature.
Aspire to be of benefit to others.
