The Progressive Stages of
Meditation on Emptiness IX

Middle-Way Empty-of-Other:
View & Meditation

View

One must know the true nature of mind is luminosity.
One must also ascertain through scripture and reasoning
The way in which it is empty of stains that are something other,
In addition to connecting with profound quintessential instructions.

Meditation
Even though in luminous buddha nature
There exists no duality of meditator and meditated,
Within luminosity, the genuine nature of mind,
Let go and relax in the intelligence born from genuine meditation.

At the Dzogchen Palace of Appearance-Emptiness, Sherab Lodro [Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche] spoke this extemporaneously, whereupon Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche immediately wrote it down.

Translated under the direction of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche by Tyler Dewar of the Nitartha Translation Network, 2002.

Know this life to be like a dream.
See the mind’s unborn nature.
Aspire to be of benefit to others.
