Ani Samten Zangmo

Samten Zangmo came to the nunnery in 1978 at 14 years of age. She has no formal education. She lived at Yolmo in Nepal for several years and helped establish Khenpo Rinpoche’s nunnery and retreat center in Yolmo. Her responsibilities included taking care of the 20 or so new nuns as well as taking care of the older nuns who were in 3-year retreat there. She also helped the English teacher learn Tibetan. She is curious and smart. She has trained herself in technical knowledge of camera and computers as well as plumbing and electricity. She also sews the shrine items and other things for the nunnery. She has completed a 3-year retreat herself and would like to do another one. She has a great sense of humor and is always ready to help.
